Welcome to our Kids Summer Reading Program!
Our goal is to foster a lifelong love for reading in a fun, pressure-free environment. Your support at home is the most important ingredient for your child's success.
The Golden Rules for Parents:
All Reading Counts: Reading chapter books, graphic novels, comic books, audiobooks, or being read aloud to all count toward their goals.
Set a Daily Routine: Aim for 30 minutes of reading per day, depending on your child's age and attention span.
Create a Coordinated Space: Find a quiet, comfortable, well-lit spot dedicated to reading time.
Be the Audience: Let your child read to you, a sibling, or even a pet. Ask them questions about the story afterward.
Lead by Example: Let your child see you reading your own books, magazines, or news.
Stay Accountable: Ensure your child fills out their log, and please sign it only after the reading time slot is fully completed.
This program is set for children of all ages (toddler -teen). We do not want anyone to feel left out and our goal is to foster healthy and fun reading habits.
If you know of a family who may be interested in joining this summer's fun reading program , please feel free to send them our way. We will have registration available at the library.
