We have a rare opportunity to experience the Outdoor Series - 5 classes on various aspects of a safe wilderness experience put on by community member, Jerry Fochler. Come join in and gain valuable knowledge to keep you safe while enjoying our beautiful wilderness areas!

ABOUT THE EVENT
We have a rare opportunity to experience theÂ
Outdoor Series - 5 classesÂ
on various aspects of a safe wilderness experience put on by community member, Jerry Fochler.
Class times are - 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Cost is:
$20 per class or
$80 for all 5 in the series

The Outdoor Series includes;
Wednesday, May 3 - Basic first aid and survival
Basic life support, bleeding, first aid supplies, what can go wrong, Common hiking injuries – FOOSH, blisters, ankle injuries, environmental concerns such as bee stings, spider bites, poison ivy, heat stroke, hypothermia.
Max size 12. Â Depending on weather this session could be indoor or out. Â Wear comfortable clothes for laying and/or sitting on the ground/floor.
Thursday, May 11 - Common tree, shrub and plant identification
Drive to a nearby location and do a short walk while identifying the key characteristics of many of the common trees, shrubs and plants, What’s edible, what’s poisonous, what’s medicinal.
The location is the North Westside Community Library at 516 Udell Road, right behind the Killiney Firehall.
